Ein weißes Blatt auf dem Tisch, in meiner Hand wartet der Stift

In meinem Kopf schwirr’n tausend Wörter, doch geschrieben hab' ich nix

Was soll ich sagen, Bruder, fragen, wie’s dir geht in einer Zelle?!

Denn ich weiß du fragst dich schon, wie lang' schreibt man dir noch zurück

Die erste Post kommt jede Woche, danach vielleicht dreimal im Jahr

Aber glaub mir, jeden Tag wird hier draußen an dich gedacht

Doch das Leben rennt viel schneller, als die Zeit es jemals kann

Verzeih' dein’n Kumpels, denn am Ende bleibt nur echte Freundschaft da

Soll ich dir sagen, «Alles cool, uns geht es gut, jeder macht sein’n Job»

Und mach' dich traurig, weil du merkst, du hängst noch Jahre in dem Loch?

Soll ich lügen und dir sagen, meine ganze Welt ist Schrott

Oder machst du dir dann Sorgen und zerbrichst dir nur den Kopf?

Ich würde dich raushol’n, wenn es ginge, Zeiger zurückdreh'n, wenn es ginge

Doch im Moment füll' ich leider nicht Mal dieses eine Blatt mit Tinte

Mann, du weißt, ich würd' es ändern

Doch ich weiß, du weißt, sogar Brot und Wasser schmecken draußen immer besser

Kopf hoch, der Blick nach draußen, denk' die Gitterstäbe weg

Jetzt sitz' ich hier und wart' seit Wochen, wir hab’n lange nicht gesprochen

Ich will nur wissen, wie’s dir geht, und nicht alleine hier verrotten

Bruder, schreib' mir irgendwas, ein paar Zeilen zum Lesen reichen

Bisschen teilhaben am Leben da draußen auf ein paar Seiten

Du musst nicht lügen, ich weiß, die Welt dreht sich schnell weiter

Doch sechs Quadratmeter machen auch nicht langsam einsam

Schon klar, ihr habt zu tun, doch ich hoff', es geht euch gut

Aber Nächte sind verdammt lang', wenn man nicht am Leben teilhat

Die Augen sind zu satt und jeder Tag derselbe Trott

Gitterstäbe schneiden Luft und der Block verdeckt mein’n Horizont

Und ganz ehrlich, wie ein Lichtblick ist jeder Brief, der zu mir kommt

Denn die Gedanken spiel’n Ping pong in meinem Kopf

Ich würde ja rauskomm’n, wenn es ginge, Zeiger zurückdreh'n, wenn es ginge

Doch im Moment ist jedes Blatt mit Tinte eine große Hilfe

The first post comes every week, then maybe three times a year

But believe me, you're thought of every day out here

But life is running much faster than time ever can

Forgive your buddies, because in the end only real friendship remains

Should I tell you, "Everything's cool, we're fine, everyone's doing their job"

And make yourself sad because you realize you're still hanging in the hole for years?

Should I lie and tell you my whole world is junk

Or do you then worry and just rack your brains?

I would get you out if it were possible, turn back the hands if it were possible

Unfortunately, at the moment I'm not even filling this one sheet with ink

Man you know I'd change it

But I know, you know, even bread and water always taste better outside

Head up, the view outside, think away the bars

Now I'm sitting here and waiting for weeks, we haven't spoken for a long time

I just want to know how you're doing and not rot here alone

Brother, write me something, a few lines to read are enough

Participate in life out there on a few pages

You don't have to lie, I know the world moves on fast

But six square meters doesn't make you lonely either

Of course you have things to do, but I hope you are doing well

But nights are damn long if you don't take part in life

The eyes are fed up and every day the same rut

Bars cut air and the block covers my horizon

And to be honest, every letter that comes to me is like a ray of hope

Because the thoughts are playing ping pong in my head

I'd get out if it were possible, turn back the hands if it were possible
