whenever I wander down the lazy river

going downhill fast

don’t want to come in last

my hair was in the clouds

my roots was underground

they took away my family

and now they won’t give them back

another fork in the road

the last motel

tossed from a car

or lost in the clouds

I need a drink of water

I went to Niagra

went faster & faster

got a box of water

a liquid souvenir

now it’s raining blackbirds

piled up at the back door

like the constellations

they won’t stay up in the sky
