In a pool of oil

Open, glistening

Foolish dripping maw

It’s all personal

As this silence grows, so does envy

Centipede, crawl to the shadows

Hide

Lose all your legs and learn the process

Squirm

Sink

Only the eyeless glowing grubs remain

Sickly white

Dying still

Choir of weakened gasping

I’ll stay here nourishing my demons

They don’t let me eat

It is distracting

They want death
