ein Lamm geborn

und eine Hand haelt es euch ins Bild

und ihr kriegt eure Augen

nicht mehr los von dem

was euch da entgegenquillt

Das linke Ohr

seitlich weggespreizt

das rechte eng angelegt

der Schaedel weiss und kahl

wie ein sterbender Greis

der sich laengst nicht mehr bewegt

Die Beinchen haengen

hilflos herunter

todmuede nach dem ersten Gang

der Leib ein weicher Blasebalg

und wie zwei schlaffe Schultern lang

Der Mund ein Wunde

aus rissigem Fleisch

vernarbt und eingekerbt

die Zunge haengt heraus

wie ein Klumpen Blut

geronnen schwarzverfaerbt

Das Lamm Gottes kann nicht mehr schrein

Und dann in der Mitte

das quadratische Loch

mit dem schwarzen Pupillengeschwuer

ein Auge nur

und riesengross

und drin gespiegelt: wir

Und siehe es wird euch

ein Lamm geborn

spread sideways

the right closely laid out

the skull white and bald

like a dying old man

who hasn't moved for a long time

The Lamb of God can no longer cry out

The little legs are hanging

down helplessly

dead tired after the first course

the body a soft bellows

and long like two slack shoulders

The mouth a wound

of cracked flesh

scarred and indented

the tongue is hanging out

like a clot of blood

curdled blackened

And then in the middle

the square hole

with the black sore pupil

one eye only

and huge

and reflected in it: we

And behold it will be unto you
