Kommt ein Vogel geflogen,

Setzt sich nieder auf mein Fuss,

hat ein Brieflein im Schnabel,

von dein Mutter ein Gruss.

Und die Schau in das Brieflein,

dass die Mutter mir schrieb

jedes Wort klingt so traurig

weil so lang ich schon blief.

Lieber Junge komm wieder,

denn ich bin so alleine

und hab Sehnsuch nach dir.

Und das Brieflein geht weider

jede Zeite auf s neu

doch ich seh n ur ihre Tränen

und die meinen dabei
