Lange ging ich durch mein Leben

Mühsam tastend, fast wie blind

Und nur selten nahm ich wahr

Habe oft in meinem Leben

Das, was zart war, plump zerfetzt

Doch so oft wie andre habe

Ich mich selbst dabei verletzt

Dass ich mit dir fühlen lernte

Ist noch nicht so lange her

Und ich wüsste gern, warum

Spüre ich grad dich nicht mehr?

Ich bin oft in meinem Leben

Mal gestolpert, mal geschwankt

Hatte viel zu viele Ziele, bin nur selten angelangt

Fest zu stehen, aufrecht zu gehen

Hab ich erst mit dir gelernt

Warum hab ich mich dabei

Grad von dir so weit enfernt?

And only rarely did I notice

how things really are

Difficult to see?

Have often in my life

What was tender, clumsily shredded

But as often as others have

I hurt myself doing it

That I learned to feel for you

It's not that long ago

And I'd like to know why

Am I not feeling you anymore?

I am often in my life

Sometimes stumbled, sometimes swayed

Had way too many goals, rarely got there

Stand firm, walk upright

I only learned with you

Why am I there?

Degrees so far away from you?
