О, я видел деревья

Всё время я видел одни деревья

И с них стекала жидкая вода

Я видел деревья

Они свисали с небес, как карманы,

полные мёртвых мышат

Они летали в засиженных тучах,

заграничным рукомойником

Они всё время рассказывали мне

всё одну и ту же сказку

и глаза их блестели на солнце

как грязные жирные пальцы

На них развешивали мокрые тряпки

и крамольные трупы

О, всю жизнь я видел только деревья.

And liquid water flowed from them

They flew in overcast clouds,

foreign washstand

and their eyes shone in the sun

like dirty fat fingers

Wet rags were hung on them

and seditious corpses
