Ich weiß noch ganz genau

Wo ich es zuerst getroffen hab

In jener ganz besonderen Nacht

Hat es sich gänzlich offenbart

Ich war noch Kind

Zehn Jahre alt

Mit meinen Eltern unterwegs

Die Straßen glatt, von Reif bedeckt

Der Weg nach Hause war erschwert

Dann ging alles so rasend schnell

Lichter blenden, Reifen kreischten

Die Welt steht Kopf, ein Splittermeer

Und plötzlich ist alles still

So still

Ich weiß nur

Wie ich vor dem Wrack gestanden hab

Sah meine Eltern reglos da

Ich konnt mich selbst kaum rühren

Und als ihr Blut zu Boden floss

Entsteht daraus ein fahles Roß

Schaut nur

Wie majestätisch es dort thront

Über all dem Chaos

Geboren aus der Not

Sein Anblick allein entfacht ein Feuer

Tief in mir

Es schaut mich an

Entbannt, entstellt

In meinem innersten verborgen

Wo sich die Herzenmühle dreht

Als es entschwindet

Wird mir eines bitter klar

Mein Leben hat sein Ziel gefunden

Und so zähl ich all die Stunden

Bis ich es endlich wieder sah

Ich wuchs auf in einem Heim

Die anderen Kinder mieden mich

Unter ihnen war ich allein

Ihr Leben interessiert mich nicht

Mit 17 nahm ich eins davon

Wie so lange schon geplant

Und als ich Opferblut vergoss

Traf ich erneut das fahle Roß

Leben nur für den Augenblick

Bade mich dafür im Blut

Es führt kein Weg zurück

Fühle weder Hass noch Wut

Es hat mich auserwählt

Es kann mir alles geben

Dafür ist kein Preis zu hoch

Und soll er tausend Fremde leben

So vergingen all die Jahre

Wie ein Phantom zog ich dahin

Wo Blut aus warmen Wunden floss

Begleitet mich das fahle Roß

Als ich heute früh erwachte

War es bereits bei mir

Schaut Stumm mich an

Ich weiß Bescheid

Sie warten draußen vor der Tür

Der Leichenpfad

Hat sie direkt zu mir geführt

Ich hör den Herzschlag vieler Männer

Jedes strotzt vor Waffenkraft

Erwarten mich im Sonnenlicht

Und so schließ ich kurz die Augen

Atme einmal tief noch ein

Dann besteige ich mein Roß

I remember exactly

Where I first met it

On that very special night

Has it fully revealed itself

I was still a child

ten years old

Traveling with my parents

The streets smooth, covered with frost

The way home was difficult

Then everything happened so fast

Lights blinded, tires screeched

The world is upside down, a splinter sea

And suddenly everything is quiet

So quiet

I just know

How I stood in front of the wreck

Saw my parents motionless

I could hardly move myself

And as her blood fell to the ground

A pale steed arises from it

How majestically it is enthroned there

Above all the chaos

Born out of necessity

Just looking at it kindles a fire

Deep inside me

It looks at me

Unbanned, disfigured

Hidden in my innermost

Where the heart mill turns

As it disappears

One thing becomes bitterly clear to me

My life has found its purpose

And so I count all the hours

Until I finally saw it again

I grew up in a home

The other children avoided me

I was alone among them

I don't care about your life

I took one when I was 17

As planned for so long

And when I shed sacrificial blood

I met the pale steed again

Live only for the moment

Bathe me in blood for it

There is no turning back

Feel neither hatred nor anger

It chose me

It can give me everything

No price is too high for this

And shall he live a thousand strangers

So all the years passed

I went there like a phantom

Where blood flowed from warm wounds

Accompany me the pale horse

When I woke up this morning

Was it already with me

Look at me silently

I know about

They wait outside the door

The corpse trail

Led her straight to me

I hear the heartbeat of many men

Each is brimming with weapon power

Expect me in the sunlight

And so I close my eyes for a moment

Take a deep breath

Then I mount my horse
