Wenn der König stirbt

Dann weint die Königin

Nur der Prinz freut sich auf den Neubeginn

Denn er war es selbst

Der den Mord in Auftrag gab

Nun weint er falsche Tränen an des Königs Grab

Bald weht ein harscher Wind durch das ganze Land

Der neue auf dem Thron regiert mit harter Hand

Geruch von Schweiß und Blut verdeckt (…) rot

Jenes Gesicht im Staat, verstummt nach einem Tag

Doch schon nach einem Jahr, trifft ihn im Schlaf der Schlag

Und auch der neue König bekommt ein schönes Grab

Nun muss es sich erst zeigen, ob bess’res nach ihm folgt

Noch ist das Schloß verwaist

Noch leer der Thron aus Gold
