There’s a lake that is locked

And frozen

Something has been there

For at least three thousand years

There is a room that is locked

And haunted

Something’s been inside

Trying to survive

I’ve seen traps

Rusting in the street

I’ve found lions in my bath

And prowling the ravines

I’ve seen ghosts rising

From the snow

And there’s still so much

That I don’t know

I’ve seen things that

I dare not explain

But I tell you I’m fine

I just won’t be the same

I’ve seen lights in the dark

That can be unkind

And it’s been this way since 1979

The engineer says there’s nothing below

But cold unyielding stone

But I know there’s more

So much more than

We can ever see

So much more

Than we can readily believe

I’ve seen things that

I dare not explain

Follow me to the carnival in white

Swim with me in the serpentine rivers
