Hier stehen wir

Vor uns die Wüste um uns der Wohlstand

Hinter uns:

Jahre vertaner Zeit

Und fehlende Taten

Jahre des Zögerns man kannte die Fakten und war nicht bereit

Aber jetzt können wir nicht mehr warten

Keine Zeit für die Leugner und Fatalisten

Für die Bequemen, die, die so tun als ob sie es nicht schon seit Jahren wüssten

Für die, die streikende Schüler als unvernünftig verlachen

Einzig unvernünftig ist es doch, jetzt einfach so weiterzumachen

Hier stehen wir

Mit dem Kummer und mit der Wut

Über sterbende Arten und Meere voll Müll und der Angst vor der kommenden Flut

Ein begrenzter Planet und unendliches Wachstum

Das das nicht geht, ist doch trivial

Jetzt verzicht oder später Vernichtung

Ist das echt eine schwierige Wahl?

Keine Zeit für die Leugner und Fatalisten

Für die Bequemen, die, die sich nicht interessieren, obwohl sie es eigentlich

müssten

Für die, die Protest unter aussichtslos verbuchen

Wirklich aussichtslos wäre es nur, wenn wir es nicht versuchen

Hier stehen wir

Wie die Maus vor dem Mähdrescher

Und harren aus das es uns überrollt

Die Maschine ist gierig nach Wachstum

Keiner lenkt, keiner hat’s so gewollt

Die läuft wie von selbst und so effektiv

Und weil kaum einer gerne verzichtet

Läuft die Maschine halt weiter

Die alles verwertet und alles vernichtet

Wir haben keine Wahl

«Wir haben keine Wahl» sagen die Mäuse und graben sich ein

Wenn sie rauskommen ist alles staubig und kahl

Der Planet kann uns alle ernähren

Doch er darf niemand gehör'n

Ich weiß Geld kann nicht alles

Aber mit Geld kann man alles Zerstör'n

Keine Zeit für die Leugner und Fatalisten

Für die, die sich nur für Profit interessieren, obwohl sie es eigentlich besser

wüssten

Die Schüler gehen auch für euch auf die Straße, weil es Jeden angeht

Auch für die Faulen und die Ignoranten — ja es ist auch deren Planet

Hier stehe ich

Ich schaue mich um

Ich bin nicht allein, dafür bin ich erleichtert

Und ich weiß leicht wird es sicher nicht sein

Aber wer wenn nicht wir?

Und wenn jetzt nicht, wann dann?

Jetzt ist Schadenbegrenzung noch möglich

Doch dafür muss sich sehr vieles Ändern

Und jetzt fängt es an

years of wasted time

A finite planet and infinite growth
