People running

Around like they’re crazy

Trying to save their lives

A child is crying

And seeking his mother

She will not reply

Old ones resign

Themselves to their fate

Pray to their gods and cry

From the sky is raising hell

Thousands of throats cry out

Pumice fills the streets

Legs can’t move and sink

The rich groan

Clinging to their treasures

To what end?

Thieves attempt

Absurd looting

While death steals their souls

The poor let themselves go to a last

Desperate embrace

Buried alive in their homes

Certain of their end

They all hope to live

Certainly all ‘ll die!!!

There are choices

Priorities that nature cannot

Justify to men

Stupid to look for a reason why

The grey ash covers the faces

And enters the lungs

Breathes break, hearts stop

Eyes wide open

Pleading for help

Now the city is drowned in pumice

Smothered by ashes

But death is not yet satiated

Still hungry for lives

Nature doesn’t know

That it’s helping her

In the end

Silent gas will kill

The few survivors

Everywhere!
