Wenn Himmel erleuchten und wenn Regen fällt

Und im Schlage des Donners die Stille vergällt

Wenn die Bäume sich biegen, Ihr Kommen bezeugen

Und sich vor der Königin Gaia verbeugen

Der Regen, er setzt der Dürre ein Ende

Er stillt den Durst der trockenen Erde

Und fortgespült wird was kein Leben mehr birgt

Was Gaia erneuert, was Feuer verschlingt

Wenn Wasser und rasender Wind sich vereinen

Der Donner erscheint und die Himmel sich teilen

Und Luft zwischen Wolken und Erde nicht trennt

Was Gaia gebietet und Feuer verbrennt

Blitze erhellen den Himmel, so wütet der Donner im Elysium

Die Berge erwidern, ihr Echo erschallt, die Zeit ist gekommen, seid besser

bereit!

Was hält, steht still, was kann, das rennt

Der stärkste weilt, der Rest verbrennt

Was dieses überlebt, das bleibt

Was nicht, wird Flamme einverleibt

Das Wetter ruht nicht, immerfort

Tanzt es im Wirbelwinde

Und fegt, was sich nicht hält, hinfort

Was laufen kann: verschwinde!

Blitze erhellen den Himmel, so wütet der Donner im Elysium

Die Berge erwidern, ihr Echo erschallt, die Zeit ist gekommen, seid besser

bereit!

So schreit sie in die Nacht hinein, so laut und doch voll Wärme

Die Welt erbebt im lauten Knall, dem Schrei von Mutter Erde

Ein Lichtstrahl teilt die Nacht entzwei, wenn Baum und Blatt erzittern

Vor dem, der flüchtig nur enthüllt, die Schönheit weißer Lippen

Nur in diesem tosend Sturm

Ist Gaia wie Sie niemand sah

Ihr Antlitz schön wie hellster Tag

So grausam, doch auch wunderbar

Als Krone trägt sie Wirbelsturm

Ihr Kleid gewebt aus Feuerschweif

Ihr Zepter — Blitz, und Donner Wort

Verzweiflung hier, dort Silberstreif

Der Sturm erstarkt im Regenschwall, im Wind erbeben Licht und Schall

Mit Donnergrollen, Funken, Blitz, Knallen, Flammen, brennend‘ Hitz‘

Kein Fels hält stand, sie bröckeln, fallen, zerbrochen von des Windes Krallen

Im Nu erfasst, zu Flug gebracht, und dann verbannt in tiefste Nacht

Mach standhaft uns, hart wie Granit, sonst reißt dein Zorn uns mit sich mit

Lindere Durst, mit kühlem Regen

Gib Wasser, schick des Sturmes Segen

Schenk Leben, Göttin, gib uns Mut

Lass Leben sprießen, neu und gut

Verseng‘, entzünde, brenne nieder

Und dann erneuer‘, wieder, wieder

As a crown she wears whirlwind

Her dress woven from fire tail

With thunder, sparks, lightning, bangs, flames, burning heat

No rock stands firm, they crumble, fall, broken by the claws of the wind

Captured in no time, brought to flight, and then banished into the dead of night

Make us steadfast, hard as granite, or your anger will sweep us away

Quench thirst with cool rain

Give water, send blessings from the storm

Give life, Goddess, give us courage

Let life sprout, new and good

Scorch, ignite, burn down

And then renew, again, again
