Alltid täck för Faderns öga

Aldrig rätt till freds med mig

Så du sorg och glädje delar

Att mig intetdera felar

Sött och surt i livets skål

Just så mycket som jag tål

Men, o Jesus, när jag gråter

Giv att hoppets glädje åter

Trots all synd och nöd, ändå

Måtte övervikten få

I'm never without danger

However, can always be safe

Always some need, but see

Always a savior too

Never free from the pain of sin

But still comforted at the heart of God

Never without struggle and battle

Always, however, in deep peace

Often hunted, often captured

But never completely the past

Often without power and advice

Never without help and mercy

Always cover before the Father's eye

Jesus, though I do not think so

Never the right to peace with me

Always blissful only in you

So you share sorrow and joy

That I am neither wrong

Sweet and sour in the bowl of life

Just as much as I can stand

But, O Jesus, when I cry

Give that joy of hope again
