As I lay sleepin' in a garden of painted grass

With eyes wide-open, came a voice from the looking glass:

«Follow me and soon you’ll find

The way to all Men’s peace of mind

Where life is gay and death is pretty

And the gates read 'Entrance to Paradox City'»

In deep profusion, smoke rings gathering 'round my head

Led me through shadows singing, «Rejoice for soon you’ll be dead»

«So follow me to the depths above

Where the skies are paved with marshmallow love

And flowers stand guard on the self-seeking pity

Daring you enter in Paradox City»

Growing confusion brought doubts wandering through my mind

As a voice within told me to leave worthless dreams behind

«And follow grinning and unhappy laughter

Don’t bury yourself in a life never-after

But if you can’t make it, come on down Mr. Pretty
