Eine Sehnsucht, sie reißt die Welt entzwei

Alles Schöne geht viel zu schnell vorbei

Meine Worte, sie halten ihr nicht stand

Und es blutet aus meiner Hand

Und ich fresse die Leere in mich hinein

Laß die Trauer in mir vergangen sein

Was mich jemals zu was Besonderem macht

Hab ich selber mir ausgedacht

Und ich weiß, ich bin es nicht

Ich träume den Traum, der keiner ist

Ich fühle den Hass, der in mir brennt

Entfesselt den Schmerz, den keiner kennt

Meine Liebe, sie ist für dich bestimmt

Nur die Tränen, die ganz wahrhaftig sind

Ideale zerfallen bald zu Staub

Weil ich selbst nicht an sie geglaubt

Und ich kämpfe im Vakuum der Zeit

Um den kleinen Rest von Menschlichkeit

Ich empfange des Lebens Energie

An den Pforten der Poesie

A longing tears the world in two

All beautiful things pass far too quickly

My words, they don't stand up to her

And it's bleeding from my hand

And I'm eating the emptiness inside me

Let the sadness in me be gone

What ever makes me special

I thought it up myself

And I know I'm not

I dream the dream that isn't one

I feel the hatred burning inside me

Unleash the pain no one knows

My love, it's meant for you

Just the tears that are all real

Ideals soon turn to dust

Because I didn't believe in them myself

And I fight in the vacuum of time

For the little remainder of humanity

I receive the energy of life
