Wir waren frei und ohne Zweifel, lebten sorglos in den Tag

Unsere Körper unverwüstlich und der Geist unendlich stark

Unsere Herzen wollten kämpfen unsere Augen alles sehen

Wir kannten keine Kompromisse ließen Träume neu entstehen

Haben stundenlang geredet und die Nächte durch gemacht

Haben gefeiert und getrunken und die Anderen ausgelacht

Keine Zeit war uns zu kostbar, unsere Seelen jung und rein

Ja wir spielten mit dem Leben, gingen in die Welt hinein

Und nun kreisen die Gedanken, um das eigene Spiegelbild

Die Geschichten sind verstummt und die Fotos längst vergilbt

Und wie vieles ging verloren, weit in der Vergangenheit

Und mit schweren Augen, blick ich auf die Zeit, die bleibt

All die Pläne geschmiedet und bis heut nicht umgesetzt

Alles das was nicht so wichtig und früher unterschätzt

Nein man sollte nichts bereuen, denn das alles hat seinen Grund

Doch hört zum wiederholten Male, die Turmuhr schlägt zur vollen Stund

Als die Tage kühler worden und die Wege sich getrennt

Schritt man los zu neuen Ufern, alles neu und alles fremd

Und doch suchte man vergeblich, nach der alten Leichtigkeit

Alle Jugend schien vorüber nichts, war für die Ewigkeit

Nur man sich selbst der sich verändert, an der Welt bleibt alles gleich

Alle Formen sind die gleichen, nur die Farbe sie verbleicht

Und nun kreisen die Gedanken, um das eigene Spiegelbild

Talked for hours and stayed up all night

We celebrated and drank and laughed at the others

All the plans forged and not implemented until today

Everything that is not so important and previously underestimated

Step off to new shores, everything new and everything strange

All youth seemed to be nothing, was for eternity
