לבנים ויפים

אוהבים וזקופים

מיד

חץ שלח באחד

שם ראשו על הכר

הצייד שעייף

וחלום לא מוכר

את שנתו טרף

נערה מעונה

אל הבית פרצה

בידה הקטנה

אחזה נוצה

שתי עיניה יפות

צופות נוזפות

כל הלילה

דמעותיה שוטפות

מה חטא, מה עוון

אהובי הלבן?

מחר

לך ליד הנהר

בחמש קם צייד

ויצא את ביתו

אל היער צעד

ברבורה עדינה

לבן גונה

ראתה את הצייד בעינה

היא שלחה מקורה

וקרעה בבשרה

מולו

צללה בצילו

כל העולם דממה

כל העולם שממה

At five a hunter got up

and left his house

To the forest step

and through his bow

Until the evening round
