Pois veio a seca, e matou meu cafezal

Matou todo o meu arroz e secou todo algodão

Nessa colheita, meu carro ficou parado

Minha boiada carreira, quase morre sem pastar

Eu fiz promessa, que o primeiro pingo d´água

Eu molhava a flor da santa, que tava em frete do altar

Eu esperei, uma semana o mês inteiro

A roça tava tão seca, dava pena até de ver

Olhava o céu, cada nuvem que passava

Eu da santa me alembrava, pra promessa não esquecer

Em pouco tempo, a roça ficou viçosa

A criação já pastava, floresceu meu cafezar

Fui na capela, e levei três pingos d´água

Um foi o pingo da chuva, dois caiu do meu olhar
