Прошел тот день, как и другие дни,

Ты не со мной, а где ты, я не знаю.

Но давние минуты вспоминая,

Хочу, чтоб стали песнею они.

Бродили мы, над нами ночь плыла,

Строкой тянулась улица пред нами.

И лунное на небе гасло пламя,

Вдали мерцала утренняя мгла.

Расстаться было нам с тобой не в мочь,

На струнах-проводах сидели птицы.

И играли для того, кому не спиться,

И наполняли музыкою ночь.

That day passed like other days,

But remembering the old minutes,

We wandered, the night floated over us,

The street stretched in front of us.

And the lunar flame went out in the sky,

The morning mist shimmered in the distance.

It was impossible for us to part with you,

Birds were sitting on wire-strings.

And they played for the one who can't sleep,

And filled the night with music.
